Join us for an unforgettable Labour Day weekend on a pontoon camping adventure in the beautiful Pontiac region of Quebec. Spend three days immersed in nature, surrounded by stunning landscapes and pristine waters.

Trip Overview: Kick off your Labour Day weekend with a unique camping experience. Our adventure begins on Saturday, August 31st, as we drive from Ottawa to our designated meeting point in the Pontiac region. From there, we'll ferry you and your gear to a picturesque island campsite via pontoon boat. Prepare for a weekend filled with relaxation, fun, and outdoor activities. We will return to Ottawa on Monday, September 2nd.

What's Included:

  • Transportation: Round-trip transportation from Ottawa and pontoon boat transfers to and from the island.
  • Camping Gear: Tents, sleeping bags, and other essential camping equipment (please let us know if you need to borrow any gear).
  • Meals: All meals and snacks for the duration of the trip.
  • Activities: Day hikes, swimming, fishing (license required), paddleboarding, canoeing, campfires, and more!

Highlights:

  • Island Camping: Experience the serenity of camping on a secluded island, surrounded by the natural beauty of the Pontiac region.
  • Day Hikes: Explore the area's natural trails with guided day hikes.
  • Water Activities: Enjoy swimming, fishing, paddleboarding, and canoeing in pristine waters.
  • Evening Campfires: Relax by the campfire each night, sharing stories and roasting marshmallows under the stars.

Itinerary:

  • Saturday: Depart Ottawa in the morning, ferry to the island campsite, set up camp, and enjoy a welcome lunch.
  • Saturday & Sunday: Engage in various outdoor activities, including day hikes, water sports, and exploring the island. All meals provided.
  • Monday: Pack up camp, enjoy a final breakfast, and ferry back to the mainland before driving back to Ottawa.

Additional Information:

  • Gear List: A comprehensive gear list will be provided upon registration. Please notify us if you need to borrow any items.

Orientation:

  • Date: August 27th at 5:30 PM
  • Location: T's Pub (323 Somerset St W, Ottawa, ON K2P 0J8)
  • Attendance at the orientation is optional but recommended to understand what to expect during the trip and to meet your Adventure Guides and fellow campers.

Transportation: 

Specific meeting details for departure will be provided after registration. It takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes to drive to the boat launch from the departure location. If you are driving your own car and transporting other campers, we will provide a transportation reimbursement.

Tents and Bedding: Tents are provided, and you are expected to bring your own bedding (sleeping pad and sleeping bag). If you don't have bedding, please let us know and we may have some spare bedding available.

Meals: Group meals are catered, which includes snacks.

Activities: We'll have campfires every night, and group meals to enjoy each other's company. We also have some fun group activities planned throughout the trip.
