    Andrew Duyvestyn has always had a passion for the outdoors, a love that grew deeper during his time at Mountain Equipment Company (MEC), where he expanded his knowledge of outdoor equipment and sports. As our President, he brings not just this expertise, but also a gutsy and cheerful leadership style, deeply connecting with our mission. Well-networked and respected in the community, Andrew’s enthusiasm for nature and inclusivity is infectious, driving Out at Camp to create meaningful, accessible outdoor experiences for the 2SLGBTQ+ community.

    Thomas Devisscher, our Chair, is an avid lover of the outdoors, with a particular zeal for camping, cycling, and running. His background in software development has honed his organizational skills and savvy, making him an invaluable asset to Out at Camp. Thomas embodies the spirit of adventure and the thrill of challenge, often delving into activities that offer "type 2 fun"—those that are rewarding after the fact. His adaptability and quick thinking, combined with a 'just do it' attitude, empower him to overcome obstacles and seize opportunities. Above all, Thomas is passionate about sharing new experiences with friends and the community, constantly striving to bring joy and adventure into the lives of those around him.

  • Nick DeGasperis (He/Him)

    Whether hiking through rugged trails, canoeing along serene rivers, or enjoying a tough day of rock climbing, Nick finds inspiration and happiness in the natural world. He has always had a strong belief that the outdoors and physical activity should be accessible and enjoyable for all. Some of you may know Nick through his volunteer coaching role with Pride Capital Volleyball or from participating in one of his elaborate scavenger hunts! He dedicates his time to organizing community events and activities that encourage people to explore connections with each other and with nature. Through his efforts, Nick aims to build an inclusive community where everyone can share in the joy and adventure of the outdoors, creating lasting memories and friendships along the way.

  • Riley Schnurr (He/Him)

    Director of Strategy and Communications

    You can most often find Riley in a freshwater body or on a wooded trail. Being a part of OaC, he knows there will be endless exciting hike-swim adventures in the near future! He believes strongly in acting local and thinking global - be it on human rights for diverse communities or on more conscious environmentalism at the individual level. Riley’s professional experience includes supporting executive leadership teams and Boards, and combined with his academic career in environment science - he looks forward to helping Out at Camp thrive as a valued community-based organization.
