About Out at Camp
Out at Camp is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating inclusive, empowering, and enjoyable outdoor experiences for the 2SLGBTQ+ youth ages 18 to 30 community. Our programs are designed to encourage personal growth, foster a sense of belonging, and promote a love for nature and outdoor activities.
Out at Camp strives to provide an environment where all individuals, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity, can feel welcomed, valued, and free to be themselves. Our mission is to create safe, inclusive, and empowering outdoor experiences that enhance personal development and foster community connections.
We envision a world where the 2SLGBTQ+ youth community thrives in an inclusive and supportive outdoor environment, free from discrimination and social isolation. We believe in the power of nature to inspire, heal, and unite, and we aim to make outdoor recreation accessible and enjoyable for everyone in our community.
Inclusivity: We celebrate diversity and strive to create an environment that welcomes and respects everyone.
Empowerment: We foster personal growth and confidence through outdoor experiences and skill development.
Community: We nurture a strong sense of community and belonging among 2SLGBTQ+ youth individuals.
Sustainability: We promote environmental stewardship and the protection of the natural world for future generations.
We offer a variety of activities and events throughout the year, including guided camping trips, hikes, paddle days, and our annual gala. These experiences are designed to celebrate diversity, foster personal growth, and build a strong sense of community, while also promoting environmental awareness.
Our future activities include the establishment of a Community Gear Library and a Community Rental Program, which aim to reduce financial barriers to participation in outdoor activities for the queer identifying 2SLGBTQ+ youth community.
We invite you to join us on our mission to make the outdoors a more inclusive and welcoming place for everyone. Whether you are a participant, a volunteer, or a sponsor, your involvement can help us make a significant impact on the lives of 2SLGBTQ+ youth individuals. Together, we can create memorable experiences, build meaningful connections, and foster a love for the great outdoors.
