Who We Are

At Out at Camp, we bring the 2SLGBTQ+ community together through the shared love of the outdoors. Our adventures range from serene hikes through breathtaking landscapes to the thrilling rush of white-water rafting. We are inclusive, we celebrate diversity, and we foster a sense of belonging and adventure in the great outdoors.

Your Role: Adventure Guide

As an Adventure Guide, you are not just leading the way on the trail or through the rapids; you are also guiding an experience. You are the catalyst for connection, the keeper of safety, and the facilitator of memories that last a lifetime.

  • Lead the Way: Guide small groups through outdoor activities, such as hiking, canoeing, and camping, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.
  • Safety First: Oversee the well-being of all participants, administering first aid as needed and ensuring adherence to all safety guidelines.
  • Educate and Inspire: Share your knowledge of the outdoors, including flora, fauna, and Leave No Trace principles, enhancing the group’s appreciation for the environment.
  • Gear Up: Assist participants with equipment use and ensure all gear is handled correctly and safely.
  • Tailor the Experience: Adapt trips to accommodate the varying skill levels of participants, ensuring everyone feels included and challenged in a supportive way.

  • Passion for the Outdoors: A love for outdoor activities and a desire to share this passion with others.
  • Experience: Prior experience in outdoor leadership is preferred, with skills in navigation, activity-specific techniques, and group management.
  • Certifications: Current First Aid and CPR certifications; additional qualifications (e.g., wilderness first responder, specific activity certifications) are a plus.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to encourage, motivate, and address the needs of participants.
  • Commitment: Availability to lead trips according to our activity schedule, including weekends and holidays as required.
